You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.

Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

Hi, everyone ;-D

Some of you know me better as Pam or Ate Pam, others may know me better as mysticariadne, and others know me more as PJ or PJ Zatken - the pen name that I use when I write fanfiction and original fiction in ff.net and fictionpress.com respectively.

I'm emailing you to ask for your help. Geneon just acquired the rights to do the dub project for the Hellsing OVAs. Sarah (a good virtual friend of mine) and I co-authored a petition requesting Geneon to bring back the original cast of Hellsing for the upcoming OVA projects.

Some of you may not know that I am an active member of Crispin Freeman's fansite - a web board dedicated for people who love mythology, anime, and Crispin Freeman's work. For those who may not know Crispin Freeman, he is the voice actor who did Alucard in Hellsing, Fuma in X-1999, Zelgadis in Slayers, Rosiel in Angel Sanctuary, Amon in Witch Hunter Robin, and many other well-known anime dub projects.

My husband and I also had the privilege of recently meeting with Crispin Freeman and Izobel (Crispin's girlfriend and one of the moderators for his fansite), as well as other members of the Yahoo!groups fanboard. We spent an evening at Sight Unseen (a Los Angeles/Santa Monica non-profit theater production co-founded by Crispin's brother, Clark) last Friday, June 24th.

After the theater was a couple of hours at Dennys (yes, Dennys) chatting away with everyone about anime, the anime/voice acting industry, and just anything that comes into mind. He is a great person, a wonderful talent, and very much down-to-earth. Izzy is also wonderful. The other fans that we met that night were fun to hang around with as well. It just confirms why I joined and stayed at the board in the first place.

The whole evening was nice and informative. It gave me a whole perspective on the industry, anime, voice acting, and the tremendous amount of effort placed in every anime project.

I attached the email below from Isobel aka thezelgoddess, one of the moderators of the Crispin Freeman board. I'm forwarding this to you personally to give you an FYI, and if you like Hellsing the way it was done in dub and would like to bring the original cast back for the upcoming OVA projects then this is your opportunity to sign the petition. The link is provided below.

This is not a hoax, and thanks in advance for your listening (reading) and support. Please forward this to anyone who'd be interested in supporting this petition, especially our friends who are anime/voice acting fans.

Warmest Regards,

Pam / mysticariadne / PJ Zatken

------------------------------
This is a special email request going out to everyone who has not yet signed the Hellsing petition requesting that Geneon reassemble the original dub cast of Hellsing for the upcoming Hellsing OVA.

This fansite has over 700 members. I know we can do better than only 200 signatures in favor of Crispin and his fellow VA's returning to their original roles in Hellsing. We definitely need your help, everyone! Every signature counts.

Especially now because in reaction to Sarah and PJ's wonderful, supportive petition, there has sprung up an extremely rude, antagonistic anti-petition to keep Crispin and the others from returning! We need to show these people that personal attacks on VA's and idle threats cannot win out over the true voice of the fandom.

This is freedom in motion, everyone. This is a chance to demonstrate that we as fans are united, constructive and sensible. We need to help Geneon see that they should not be afraid of a backlash from people who say such hurtful things. We need to encourage them to stay on the path that made Hellsing an international bestselling anime series in the first place.

So please, take a moment to follow this link and add your support. It is free, it only takes a minute of your time, and you will be contributing to the voice of reason against the nay-sayers. Even if all we have are the members of this fansite, we will FAR outnumber the competition. This is the strength of our community.

http://www.petitiononline.com/Hellsing/petition.html

And if you have already signed? Take this moment to forward this message to at least ONE person who will add their voice of support. Bring your friends, your family, your fellow fans! Post this link and a message of support on your favorite anime forums, in your Live Journal, on MySpace, in your mailing lists, as your email signature! I know we can make this happen if we do this small and simple thing, each one of us. There are so many things
we can do to get the word out, and every one of them counts! You are all so important!

Thanks for listening. Let's get our message heard!

Izobel
the Zelgoddess

Hail to the Chief

May the road rise up to greet you,
May the wind be on your back,
May the sun shine warmly upon your face,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

- old Irish prayer (found out that he's Irish)-

Now that Ronald Reagan has been laid to rest, it's just hard not to be touched. As much as I had admiration from him as our President, I had more admiration for him as a man and a human being - especially being a husband. I also admired his witty remarks, speeches, and comebacks. Being an orator, debater, and public speaker, he had my absolute admiration and respect in this department.

It's hard not to feel sorry for Nancy Reagan. I recalled my own Grandmother when Grandpa died - having to put up a brave face while hurting inside. Grandpa, just like Reagan was, deteriorated due to diabetic complications -- leaving him in a state similar to Alzheimers wherein he didn't remember anyone of us at certain times.

I recalled what a virtual friend told me before that she didn't believe there exist a kind ruler....I guess I'm an eternal optimist and a dreamer when I look out of my window and hope for better things to come which are beyond my reach but would benefit others.

So may you rest in peace, Mr. President, and may your family be comforted by God's tender hands. You and your family will be in the thoughts and prayers of the world.

Long time, no speak....

Hmm....what have I been doing lately...

Well, I've been gone for quite a while. Too many things in life going on. Work's as hectic as usual. Church activities (especially before, during, and a little after Lent) was astronomically busy.

Oh, some nut hit my car the other day. Forgive the pun, but he did a "Hail Mary" lane change and ended up hitting my car - grazing it on the passenger side from end to end, and denting the front quarter fender very badly. So my car is in the body shop for repairs, and would remain so for three weeks.

Don't worry...I got a cool rental...nonetheless, I still miss my car...

School's about to start for me in a week (again)...***sigh***
Oh well, no pain, no gain.

My computer got attacked with a virus - making me have to wipe out my entire hard drive, and thus taking all the addresses of my email buddies along with it ;-D

Well, I've been writing a lot - for church, for school (homework before school, would you believe it?), for work, and for fun.

I'm working with a young friend right now who's an awesome artist. We're working on a project that may take years to develop due to our busy schedules and because we're obsessed perfectionists. It's a manga project - he'll be doing the artwork and I'll be doing the story lines. So far, everything's a go and we're taking the slow and steady route. As to where it takes us, we'll never know until we get there.

Stories...I'm working on my original fic, The Apartment, right now. However, the muses and the evil plot bunny have been concentrating on YGO fanfics instead. Don't know why...

....I guess it's the new opening and closing songs for the YGO anime - Overlap and Eyes. They're awesome. I just downloaded them from Janime's website the other night - both the CD versions, as well as the actual clips. the clips were so good - I love the way everyone looked in those clips, most especially Anzu. There is something about the way Anzu is drawn in the opening clip that gave me the chills (in a good way). The part where Atemu gallops away on a horse is cool, too.

I am not kidding you - I've been listening to these two songs over and over (and over) again. I did not get tired of it, and I can actually sing along with it. The two songs were soo good that it kicked out Evanescence and Chantal off my playlist. Go figure **lol**

**sigh** no rest for the weary. Gotta go to church now....

Another day...

Well, canon_sues strikes again. This time, picking on James Bond. Argghhhhh..... I am definitely responding to this blatant accusation on branding James Bond as a Stu when he is one of the male canon characters that is far from Stu-dom.

And they're using today's standards to compare a character created decades ago. Now the argument that since my handsome debonaire favorite actor Pierce Brosnan (a handsome actor, down-to-earth individual, and a highly-active GreenPeace advocate)is playing him means that he is comparable to today's standards, this argument doesn't hold water, either.

Why?

Well, since the character has been created decades ago, James Bond's characterization - as well as any standards in making the canon - are based on the standards of the time Bond was born....which means that it is comparable to classical literature wherein their concepts of stories, plots, and characterization is totally different from today's standards.

And if someone blatantly repeats that the movies are currently being made today, again, I say that the movie and the character was made using the standards of yesteryears. And today's Bond movies are avidly following the canon, so it belongs to the standards.

I can argue long about this, but I will save my steam with the canon_sue community.

What Thanksgiving is really all about...

I just had lunch with a wonderful new friend (hm...we share the same first name)a few days ago. It's ironic that the best advice that she could give to someone younger is this:

Write down in your journal what are the positive things that you like about yourself

Write down in your journal what are the positive things that others like about you

Write down in your journal what things / qualities that you have had (whether it be posession, talent, experiences, etc) that you are thankful for

and last but not the least....

Look up and thank God - not only through prayer, and sharing those wonderful gifts and talents to others, but also appreciating the wonderful gift you really are to yourself and others.

Ay...and this came from a woman who went through a lot of hardships in life...

The advice was given just in time for Thanksgiving...so Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Ay....another instance of bigotry and stereotyping -- as well as a lesson learned

It just bothered me since I just came back from church (United Methodist) for a work-related matter. It's that church's 80th anniversary and their annual charge meeting.

The charge meeting is when that church's district supervisor comes and sees how the church is doing, and point out what they're doing wrong. If it gives the impression that it's like judgment day, let me say that it certainly is. We never had that in our Catholic parish, so it was fascinating (and eye-opening) to see the whole thing.

Since I just became the community organizer assigned to that church, I attended both events. And my eyes were so wide from surprise on how bigoted people can be on both sides.

I kinda thought about my Grandma. She (may her soul rest in peace) was probably turning over her grave upon hearing and seeing all of this, especially since she was the one who taught me that we are all God's children (even though one may not believe in God's existence) and that everyone's equal but different -- no matter what race, religion, sexual orientation, etc. you might be.

There's two separate ministries in this church I went to: the English congregation (Whites, some Filipinos, some Hispanics) and the Tongan (Pacific Islanders) ministry.

Even though the English pastor is very accepting, the majority of her congregation do not like the Tongans being there - especially since they don't understand their customs.

And the Tongans, as much as they want to bond with the English congregation could not because their Tongan pastor hates (and I mean hate) the idea of the Tongans becoming mixed with non-Tongans. They like sitting separately from the English congregation because they're "embarrased" about how much they eat (this was from the Tongans' point-of-view). But some of the English congregation members took this "embarrasment" as a form of snobbery -- without asking or giving the Tongans the benefit of the doubt. Culturally, the Tongans listen to authoritative figures such as parents, pastors, etc. -- even though they might think that their authority is wrong in the matter.

Don't get me wrong -- on both sides of the fence, there are those who don't follow the crowd. So I'm hoping to be able to work with them to save their church, as well as their community.

So when their district supervisor proposed during the charge meeting that they should consider combining both congregations into one, the English congregation rolled their eyes and the Tongan pastor really pouted. Ay....unbelievable.

And the supervisor has no clue that this is going on, and I think she'll never will.

Aside from that, another parish I'm handling is tackling the issue of violence and outbreak of riots in their local high school. Three students were recently hospitalized, but thank goodness they are all fine now.

The students who attend there have awesome ideas about where the problems are coming from (teachers who are not concerned with them learning, poor communication between the school/students/parents, no after-school programs for remedial students, and your old-fashioned peer pressure and just being an adolescent).

So I couldn't understand why the parents and the grown-ups are harping that it's all a racial matter -- when it's really not all there is to the problem. It shows that they really were not listening, since they have a preconceived notion that all disagreements stem from race. They also really frowned on me when I invited students there in the meeting to participate.

One "wise" parent challenged me, saying, "give me one good reason for inviting these kids, when they don't know anything about the problem."

God, I was so pissed off when I heard that...but I kept my anger to myself. However, I'm not going to let that just slide.

My response to her was "the students must be included in solving the problem. They're the ones who are in school - day in, and day out -- not the parents. Isn't it logical enough to include the input of those who are directly involved and affected by the school violence?"

She definitely shut up after that. She's fuming, but she's got to deal with it....The other parents, thank goodness, agreed with me and welcomed the students.

I just keep scratching my head because the school administration's solution to the problem is to have all students wear their IDs and fine them $500 (no kidding) if you are caught without one visible at all times. If the parents could not pay for the ticket, the parents and the student are taken to court and presented before the judge.

All that -- just for one stupid ID. What makes them think that all those who have IDs are students? I guess they haven't heard of fake IDs ::snort::

Aside from that, their campus looked like a juvenile prison -- with police officers and the school staff on walkie talkies and looking at the students as if they're bad.

God, I hated it whenever I remember seeing students go to a "prison-like" school. And what's sad is that their high school is supposed to be a magnet school for the arts. It still pisses me off to no end whenever I remember that the adults refuse to see the truth -- the racial issue does play a role, but not a significant one. There are other problems there, including the racial issue, that needs to be all addressed.

So I'm glad that the students who attend there and also belong to their respective churches worked together on having a student forum. In that forum, THEY will do the talking and the parents/adults are just there to listen. I'm proud of them because they planned the whole thing so creatively.

Today's events are just a surprising reminder for me that bigotry and stereotyping happens on both sides of the fence (remember those stereotypical notions that kids don't know everything, only the whites are bigoted, etc...) -- it's a sad, but very true fact that a lot of people (including myself at times) react on the stereotype and base our decisions on those reactions.

Ay, so many things can be solved if people take the time to step back and analyze everything first. I've been doing a lot of thinking, as I see these events...and learning, as well as growing, from them. And it inspires me to no end that these students are working together (and they all belong to different religions and cultures) without anyone prompting them.

And still, the parents think it's a "racial thing..." Ay... ::shakes head and slaps forehead::

So just keep your fingers crossed and pray for me that I can work a miracle in these two churches. They're a lot of good people there who could not make a difference in other people's lives and in the community because of others who choose to keep their bigoted ways.

Religion

Ay... As much as I don't understand why there are so many bigoted people in the face of the earth, I'm doing my best to understand that God has a plan in everything.

For those who don't believe in God, I mean no offense. I just need to rant here, especially since I believe that not believing in God or not having a religion IS a religion in itself.

Nowadays, I've been encountering a lot of religious-related stuff -- either those who inspire me to become a better person, those who make me think more about why I'm here on this earth, and those who piss me off to no end with their bigoted ignorance.

To my fellow Catholics, as well as those who loyally adhere to their respective faith, I say one thing: keep fighting the good fight. I'm there with you ;-D

To those who refuse to see beyond their bigotry (as God may frown on me for saying this), Satan just paged you. He says you need to be fitted with designer hooves, horns, and a tail.

And if you are extra ignorant by bashing the entire Catholic, Christian, ___________ (add any religion, group, etc. here) community, he says he'll even have you hold his pitchfork! May you rot in hell for the ignorant ass you are!

Yes! I'm done with Angel of Darkness ;-D

Anyhoo, since Tomb Raider - Angel of Darkness came out for PS2, I've been playing it. Helps me relax after a long day, or when I'm brain-dead from homework.

But golly, I did it! I finished it today - from start to finish! Yes (ka-ching!) ;-D The story's cool, and I love Lara Croft, but the ending was kinda like "is that it?" But don't get me wrong - it was cool for me.

So now, on to bigger things -- such as a major term paper, a homework package (5 weeks' worth), a project, and NaNoWriMo (oh my God, 50,000 words to be done by end of November).

Ay, no rest for the weary, but I'm going to celebrate my videogame "victory" by sipping some virtual brandy and throwing some virtual confetti ;-D

Ya-hoo!!!!

I love these quizzes

I just love these quizzes. It makes to laugh and know more about yourself. Ay... got this one from a good friend of mine - sweethikari (aka UmiMegami, one of my favorite ff.net authors as well as a good virtual friend).

Hmm..what type of mythological creature are you? I took this quiz. Ironically, I mentioned to someone as a joke that I'm the one that "wears the horns in the family." ;-D

You are Form 8, Demon: The Destroyer.

"And The Demon took advantage of the chaos
and seized civillization. With grace and
style, Demon slit The Goddess's belly and
drowned the world in her blood. The Goddess,
The Demon, and the world were no
more."

Some examples of the Demon Form are Seth (Egyptian)
and The Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Christian).
The Demon is associated with the concept of
destruction, the number 8, and the element of
earth.
His sign is the full moon.

As a member of Form 8, you are a very strong willed
individual. You don't let others' opinions
sway your own and you're usually not afraid to
speak your mind. However, some may see you as
a bit overly passionate but it's just because
you never back down from your values. No
matter what, you always do everything with
style. Demons are the best friends to have
because they will back you up.

Which Mythological Form Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

I'm sooo happy :-D

Oh, good.... I have three major things that I'm sooo happy about.

First of all, my dear Aunt Flor is finally with me. I haven't seen her in ages, and have been missing her all these years. She's been my "Mom" since she took care of me since I was four months old. So I flew to Arizona to pick her up.

I also met my dear cousins and my Aunt Nelly for the very first time - although we've had a close relationship and bond through letters and phone calls over the years.

I've proven two things about life: you can never be too old for your Mommy, and it's just great to be surrounded with family and those you love. Even though I'm not blessed in the money department (for now), I've been thanking my lucky stars about having been blessed with good and nurturing relationships in my life: a loving hubby, great in-laws, and a nice family (at least I can safely say that about my Mom's side of the family).

Secondly, I've been searching high and low for years to get Voltes 5 - an awesome anime that I love and obsessed about over the years (as much as I obsessed about Yu-Gi-Oh). For those who don't know what Voltes 5 is all about, it was a huge anime hit in Japan during the late seventies to early eighties (along with Daimos, Mekanda Robot, and Mazinger Z) as well as the precursor for Voltron.

Lucky me, my brother got a copy of the entire series and lent me to watch it to my heart's content. Yes! Ka-ching! Man, I was sooo happy watching the first 12 episodes today - with my Aunt Flor sitting right beside me, as we reminisced how much I loved Voltes 5 when I was a kid. And yes, she got another good laugh when she found out how obsessed I am with Yu-Gi-Oh. The very thing she found out about me: some things never change ;-D

Third, two cool people in my youth organization are exclusively a couple now - which I find cute and romantic. She's very sweet, and he's very nice. Word finally got out after he sang karaoke during our church fair, dedicated a song to her, and went down on one bended knee after a lot of their giddy friends brought her close to him.

They deserve good people in their lives, and everyone around them is so giddy to know that they're an item now. His younger sister's happy about them, and so am I. It's kinda funny because I had a wishful thinking about them being a couple two years ago during rehearsals for a play we worked together in.

Ay....life is sooo good to me ;-D

God...my brain's soooo fried from this take-home stuff from school. Argghhh... Oh well.... I stopped by and read my good friend Bonasi-chan's LJ entries.
Seeing Red

I just found out that my fanfic, Faust - Yu-Gi-Oh Style, was just deleted by fanfiction.net Not only that, they placed an infraction and temporary ban so I cannot post any stories at fanfiction.net for a while.

All for a story that has a rated R. Even though the summary warned about het, yaoi, and lemons, the three chapters that are (or was) currently out there had no sex whatsoever. The first three chapters are benign - compared to the many all-out graphic ones out there AND are still there.

So I wrote a very long, lengthy email to the administrators at fanfiction.net. Why? I paid $25 to enjoy the maximum of this fanfic writing experience.

So whoever reported me, I have four things to say to that person:

(1) you're a coward by hiding behind someone's virtual skirt - namely fanfiction.net

(2) you're a liar by reporting my story as a violator when there isn't anything to report about it

(3) you're a jealous nut who reported something that you haven't read - because if you did read it then you would absolutely know that there's nothing to report about it, and

(4) rot in hell, you nut! Who the hell do you think you are by reporting a benign story as an offender? Either you have something against me (and you're a coward by not confronting it or me about it) and this is your only sick way of making things difficult OR you have no clue about fanfiction.net because you'll know that there are much more graphic stories than mine out there.

You know, this inconvenience you did for me will return to you FULL FORCE one hundred-fold! The universe has ways in rectifying grave injustices.

May you get your just desserts, you self-professed, stinking, jerky, arrogant nut!

Running around like a hen...

Ay....

Too many things on my plate, and almost none of them have to do with the fun things that I enjoy: talking to friends via internet, watching Yu-Gi-Oh, dueling, writing fanfiction, writing additional chapters for my original fiction, making new characters for an upcoming original fic project.

All work, and no play (sob....)

I miss my friends... Bonasi-chan, Ary, Chevira-chan.... Each one has helped me become a better person and a better writer. Not to mention that they provide entertainment and a smile on a bad day - which is what I've been having for about a week now. Ay....my first journal entry, and I'm venting. Oh, well....

Thank God I have someone in my life who's willing to deal with my insanity on days such as these ;-D

Well, one more day of absolute insanity, and then I can drop an email to my three good friends starting tonight. I need to make use of the few precious hours of freedom before all hell breaks loose again.

And what have I been doing lately, which is depriving me of most of the things I love to do?

I have to deal with bickering team-mates for a class I'm taking right now. And I have to deal with them for a whole semester. Oh, it is such a joy to see four people turn on their respective attitudes into overdrive (sarcastic tone)
;-D

The only thing I'm looking forward to for next week is my dear Aunt Flor flying from the Philippines to Arizona :-D

As much as I am not looking forward on flying to Arizona to pick her up (she's partially blind), seeing her again after all these years make up for anything. She took care of me since I was a baby, and I miss her so much. I hope and pray for a safe flight for her.

Just when everything is looking better, guess who calls? One of my attitude-driven team-mates, that's who. She called just to complain about the other one.

Oh, joy....where's the decanter of brandy and the bottle of Tylenol, especially on a time like this?
